The aim of the article is to present and discuss the possibilities for implementing Scrum – an agile project management methodology typically used in IT – in Philology studies. Having adopted the assumption that the education in the field of humanities is facing a growing need for innovation in the sphere of teaching and there is pressure to respond to the current labor market's expectations, the author has proposed a teaching experiment that involves introducing Scrum to a graduate seminar in linguistics. The article describes the course of the project and provides that Scrum – once modified in certain aspects to account for the specifics of the academic work – makes it possible to organize the cooperation between thesis supervisors and students efficiently. It additionally allows students to develop their self-organization competence and responsibility for the learning process.
